My Malayalee thoughts on Beef ban!

Writer's picture: Rohan RoyRohan Roy

To all the people who really think bovine meat is holy and should not be eaten, can I ask you a simple question:

People believe that nature is symmetric and balanced unless for the chaotic destruction by humanity and all the beings in the Earth should follow a proper order. Then in that case bovines would not have been hunted by any other animals. All those wolves, lions, tigers and bears would had been thinking, “Hey, all men consider cows to be holy, hence they shouldn’t be hunted”. Do a certain group of animals protest against killing cows? Has there even been a scientific proof of certain animals not preying on them? Are other carnivores sympathetic to cows? Hell NO!!. Bovines are just another link in the food chain, they are born, they are hunted and they are preyed upon. Aren’t they being domesticated in torturous conditions in large scale farms just to be milked. Don’t you consider that to be cruel?

You could as well plainly argue that they give milk ONLY to us, that’s why 'WE' should consider them holy. Cow milk is for calves. Not for us. Does that stop anyone from drinking it. NO!!. Are cows made by the creator just to give humans milk. Is it their sole purpose? In plain joke, don’t they deserve a better life? They may or may not. Judgement is upto each others' discretion.

Every animal is just another simple being that is born, lives and dies. Everything preys on something else. That’s the symmetry of nature. In simple words, one does not have the right to judge that others should the same the same ideology as they do. Don’t force your narrow-mindedness on everyone else. Everyone has their won views.

Isn’t this current govt. a strategy to bring in big-scale players in this cattle-slaughter? Aren’t there bigger issues in this country? Aren’t there problems of racism, slavery, poverty, drought and famine that has to be dealt first?
